Why SoGoCo?
Empowering others to do good in the local community is my life’s work. In everything I do, I take a collective impact approach that reminds me that I, alone, cannot tackle today’s pressing social issues, but I can work with other leaders and challenge them to collectively shift the narrative and rewrite the story of who their community is and to create pathways for their communities to reach its full potential. When I think about my approach to work, I am fulfilled by collaborating on different projects with diverse groups of people doing meaningful work that transforms the lives of others. I thrive on understanding the heartbeat of organizations and helping them to intentionally and strategically fulfill their missions. That is why Social Good Consulting.
Can you share a moment or experience that shaped your approach to creating social change?
In 2017, I heard Bryan Stevenson speak for the first time, and in 2018, I read his book Just Mercy. Since then, I have been on a constant pursuit of identifying ways to amplify silenced voices, to speak up for the unheard, and to reimagine what life looks like when communities collaborate and authentically support one another. Stevenson’s work challenges me to look at the individual and the system simultaneously and to address both.
Outside of your consulting work, what do you enjoy doing?
Traveling is one of the joys in my life. I appreciate the opportunity to learn about other cultures and to expand my worldview. While I enjoy life in Texas, there’s so much more to the world outside of Texas. Seeing mountains, oceans, and jungles reminds me how grand the world around me is. I also enjoy reading…particularly non-fiction and memoirs. I love learning about history—and connecting historical occurrences to present-day reality, as well as learning about the hurdles, barriers, and triumphs that many of today’s most influential faced before they became who we know today.

Can you share a moment or experience that shaped your approach to creating social change?
Anyone who knows me knows James Baldwin is my favorite author. His ability to speak truth to power—unapologetically confronting injustice while illuminating the complexities of identity, belonging, and equity—has profoundly shaped my approach to social change. Baldwin’s writings remind me that change is both urgent and intentional, requiring us to wrestle with discomfort while imagining a better future.
One of his quotes that resonates deeply with me is, “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” This idea drives my work, whether I’m advocating for equitable education, fostering inclusive communities, or designing strategies that lead to meaningful impact. Inspired by Baldwin, I approach social change with both critical reflection and actionable solutions, ensuring that we not only challenge injustice but actively build pathways toward progress.
Outside of your consulting work, what do you enjoy doing?
I enjoy boating, hiking, and DIY projects in my spare time. These activities allow me to unwind and stay connected to my roots, balancing my professional pursuits with personal fulfillment. You might also find me out in the community volunteering at several different organizations whose missions I deeply connect with.
